ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

 The Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Government of Mizoram was established in 1983 headed by a Director, with 10 (ten) officers and staff under him, with the mandate to impart training to all levels of government servants for efficient and effective governance.

 The total strength of officers and staff of the ATI is 42 at present with the Director, who is assisted by two senior officers of the rank of Joint Director. Administration and academic functions are divided between them and they in turn are aided by a team of Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, Superintendent and supporting staff and two Associate Professors. Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (Training Wing), Government of Mizoram, is the administrative department of the ATI. 

 As a mainstream department of the State Government, the funds are provided by the State Government to meet all routine and required expenditure on heads ranging from core activities to common activities. The core activity of training is undertaken both through the fund provided by the Government of Mizoram and the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India. Scheme-specific trainings are conducted through funding by concerned Ministries of the Government of India.

 The ATI is strategically located in the heart of the government just below the Mizoram Civil Secretariat building in the New Secretariat Complex, making it easily accessible from institutional, commercial and residential areas through a network of roads. Designed to suit the hilly terrain of Mizoram and set in the natural surroundings of hilly landscape, the Institute boasts four interconnected blocks i.e. Blocks A,B,C and the Auditorium which has a seating capacity of 200. Multi-level parking and video conference room are also under construction and both slated to be fully functioning within this year.

 There are three training halls in Block-A, four in Block-B and another four in Block-C, which includes a state of the art computer laboratory seating 30 and an exam hall. These are equipped with facilities like interactive boards, LCD projectors, computers, public announcement systems, etc. The ATI also boasts of wi-fi, connectivity in all its buildings.

 The Institute has a library with a modest collection of 5697 books. Efforts are continually made to enrich it with additional books and with facilities for linking with important and well-known libraries. The Institute also has exclusive space for canteen with a newly constructed extension above the auditorium and limited staff quarters for employees staying within the campus. There are six guestrooms and one laundry room to accommodate and cater to out station trainees
